 ITEM DESCRIPTION

Original 1st printing 13 x 17&3/4" concert poster for the "Avant-Rock" of the MC5  appearing with the Chosen Few at the Grande Ballroom in Detroit, MI from 10/7-8/1966.

Art by (and SIGNED in black sharpie by) Gary Grimshaw (one of his last-ever signatures), image ("The Seagull") is # 1 in the Russ Gibb Presents/Grande series, the VERY FIRST IMAGE.

Thick cardboard stock poster has been professionally restored to near mint/excellent (A-/B+) condition; there was a hard horizontal center crease/bend that was reinforced on the reverse for stability and touched up on the paper surface (most obviously in the left/right center margins, but the blend is ULTRA-clean) and there is a trace of thin creasing that remains where the bend originally was, but it is VERY subtle... there is also a tiny pair of staple holes in the top center margin, a slight wave to the paper, a touch of toning, a tiny pin-prick spot or two hiding within the image area and a couple of tiny corner tip splits, but it looks REALLY clean/sharp overall.

An absolutely STUNNING ARTIST-SIGNED specimen of the 1st-printing Seagull poster, first one I have ever been able to offer.
