Original 1st printing 14&1/8 x 20&5/8" concert/event poster and 5&1/2 x 8&1/2" thin foil handbill for the 2nd Northern California Folk-Rock Festival, held at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds in San Jose, CA from 5/23-25/1969.
Poster and handbill both list performances by the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Jefferson Airplane, Chambers Brothers, Led Zeppelin, Eric Burdon, Spirit, Canned Heat, Buffy St. Marie, the Youngbloods, Steve Miller, Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, Taj Mahal, Noel Redding (Fat Mattress), Lee Michaels, Blues Image, Santana, Aum, Elvin Bishop, Poco (Pogo), People, Linn (Lynn) County, Loading Zone, Sweet Linda (Tillery) Divine, Cat Mother & the All-Night Newsboys, Doc Watson and the New Lost City Ramblers. Also appeared (not listed): Fritz (featuring Lindsay Buckingham and Stevie Nicks) and more.
Design by Linda Segul, medium glossy-coated index stock poster is in VERY crisp near mint (A- to A-/B+) condition; aside from a stray fingerprint or two, it is an absolutely FANTASTIC-looking example.
The thin foil-coated stock handbill is in near mint (A- to A-/B+) condition; just a few tiny little stress "worms" (a common trait with this handbill), otherwise fine.
VERY cool little pair of original rock festival items from 1969, featuring both Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin listed on the same bill.
*Not every act listed on the poster performed, but many (if not most of them) did- including Hendrix, who apparently delivered a scorching mid-afternoon set on the 25th. Here's a VERY brief clip;
