Original 1st printing 14 x 21&1/4" concert poster for the Jimi Hendrix Experience with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and Albert King appearing at the Fillmore Auditorium and Winterland in San Francisco, CA from 2/1-4/1968.
Art by Rick Griffin, image ("Flying Eyeball") is # 105 in the Bill Graham/Fillmore series.
Medium flat index stock poster is in good/decent (B to B/B-) condition; the main issue on this example is the fairly extensive amount of wear/peeling/glue residue on the reverse (see photo); there is also a 1" tear and thin 1&1/2" tape residue mark in the lower right margin, a light amount of surface wear/handling, a couple of slightly rounded corners, a few tiny pin-prick spots in the right center margin, a few thin horizontal bends traversing the top margin and the upper part of the image area/lettering, a few thin stress creases hiding within the image area, a few diagonal bends in the upper left corner, a tiny pin-prick nip out of the top margin, a light scuff in the 3-4:00 area of the inner circle, a bit of creasing and a few light scuffs around "Fillmore" and "Winterland" and a hint of toning, otherwise fine.
A VERY nice-looking (from the front, at least) 1st printing 105 poster that was originally taken down from the wall at Ben Friedman's legendary Postermat in San Francisco. GREAT provenance on this one!
