Original 1st printing 14&7/8 x 19&7/8" concert poster for Quicksilver Messenger Service appearing with Big Brother & the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin) and Country Joe & the Fish at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA from 11/25-26/1966.
Art by Victor Moscoso, image is # 36 in the Family Dog/Avalon series (this is the type "A" version with the lighter red ticket outlet strip).
Medium-thick flat vellum stock poster is in good (B) condition; there is a decent-sized (1/2") wedge-shaped hole, a large nail hole and a tiny pin hole with a slight scuff mark in the top center margin, along with a pair of triangular-shaped tape residue marks/pulls in the upper left/right corners, a thin diagonal bend in the bottom right margin/edge, a pair of staple holes in the bottom center margin, a tiny diagonal bend and 1/8" edge tear in the lower left corner, a bit of subtle surface wear (a few light scuffs/rub marks) and a quarter-shaped oil stain on the reverse, otherwise fine.
A nicely-aged 1st printing example of this early Moscoso Family Dog image. Check out the original radio spot for the show!
