Original 1st printing (1st state- thick cardboard stock version) 28&1/8 x 22" concert/event poster for the Second Annual Atlanta International Pop Festival, held in Byron, GA from 7/3-5/1970.
Art by Lance Bragg, image (the third/final state thin paper version with several lineup changes) is featured in the Art of Rock on page 390 (plate 4.178) -this is the ORIGINAL version that was distributed before the lineup (and artwork) was altered.
Poster lists festival participants the Allman Brothers Band, B.B. King, Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band, the Chambers Brothers, Country Joe & the Fish, Ginger Baker's Air Force, Richie Havens, Jimi Hendrix, the Hampton Grease Band, Yogi Bhajan, Taos, Ballin' Jack, Bloodrock, John B. Sebastian, Jethro Tull, Sly & the Family Stone, Spirit, Terry Reid, Cactus and Gypsy, along with a "Symposium of Awareness", a giant fireworks show, super jam sessions and more. Several acts not mentioned on this version were added later, including Procol Harum, Mountain, Ten Years After, Ravi Shankar and It's A Beautiful Day (replacing Country Joe and Sly, both of whom dropped off the bill.).
Thick cardboard stock poster is in very good (B/B+) condition; there are tack holes (all four corners) a bit of light pen scratch in the ticket outlet area (a phone number pointing to one of the ticket outlets), a tiny nip out of the lower right corner tip, a few thin edge creases and tiny pin-prick stains scattered around the outer margin area, light surface wear, a pair of small surface indentations just to the right of the "l" in "Festival", a few tiny stress bends hiding within the image area, a light woodgrain pattern burned into the reverse (presumably from the wall it was originally displayed on) and a few light drip stains scattered around the outer margin area, otherwise fine.
An overall FANTASTIC-looking ORIGINAL LINEUP/FIRST STATE cardboard Atlanta Pop poster. Check out the Allman Brothers Band's set HERE;
