Description

Original 1st printing 13&7/8 x 20&1/8" concert poster for the Grateful Dead appearing with Quicksilver Messenger Service at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA from 1/27-28/1967.

Art by Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley, image is # 45 in the Family Dog/Avalon series.

Medium flat index stock poster is in good/decent (B/B-) condition; this example has a bit of fading/toning, along with multiple tiny "cub" staple holes in all four corners with a couple of tiny drag tears/pulls and a small wedge of paper missing from the top right corner tip, a few stray pin-prick surface spots and light handling dings/soft bends here and there (mostly around the outer edges), a 1&1/2" diagonal bend in the lower right corner, a tiny razor slice in the bottom center margin and a bit of tape residue along the top/bottom margins on the reverse side, otherwise OK... still presentable.

Nice-looking semi-used 1st printing example of this always-popular early-'67 Grateful Dead Mouse/Kelley poster from the Avalon.
